Basic minimum care should be free for anyone earning under 30K a year - Thoughts?

Recommended Posts

I feel like for those who make under 30K, their basic health needs should be covered and in order to have this free coverage, they do something similar to what Japan does where you are scheduled to go in every 6 months or you void your coverage. This way, people are screened for things often enough where they can be caught and treated early (not costing huge amounts of money) and people who can't afford healthcare still have peace of mind that they have at least basic care they will not be expected to pay back. This included non-cosmetic density and eyecare too. Thoughts?

I said something similar in another thread. I agree with this. I think basic care should be free but there should be strings attached to it. Like the once or twice a year check-up and maybe making sure you make healthier life choices like no excessive drinking or eating fast food more than twice a week. That would need a lot of detailing and work though to be fair for everyone.

I can agree to that. I think for anyone making below that, it can be pretty tough to get good healthcare. I like the idea of having to go in every 6 months, that's fair I think. Because I'm sure they wouldn't want someone to just get the service for free.
